VIU BSW Graduate Hired as Child Protection Worker and Assigned to Youth Advisory Council

VIU BSW 2015 graduate, Jordanna Southall, one of the first recipients of free tuition for youth who have aged out of the foster care system, has been hired by the Ministry of Children and Family Development as a child protection worker and has been appointed to a youth advisory council mandated with improving the lives of youth in care.  Jordanna will draw on her experience in the foster care system to communicate with and relate to the foster kids she will help. VIU was the first post-secondary school in BC to offer free tuition to youth aged out of the foster care system. Full story
