Toni Lachance

Instructor

Toni has been teaching at VIU for almost a decade, after teaching for Red Deer College for many years. Her experience is in preschool settings, as well as in supporting educators to set up and operate child care programs in private homes. She has also worked with families and children in challenging circumstances. In addition to an ECD Diploma and a B.A. in Child and Youth Care, she has an M.A. in Educational Technology as well as completed coursework toward a PhD. in Human Ecology (Family Studies). Her curriculum development skills have been put to use in developing new courses as well as in program revision.  She has a special interest in international child care, having developed a field school course in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. In addition she has visited centers in London, Singapore, Budapest, India, Italy and Inuvik – and hopes to continue to combine her love of travel with her interest in programs for children and families.
