This program provides advanced-level training for people who already lead or who aspire to lead in the community living, inclusive education, disability, and disability related sectors. As a graduate of the Leadership and Disability Studies program, you will have the skills and experience to effectively lead teams and organizations. 


You will learn to effectively advocate for yourself, others, and with groups.

Change Making

You will develop the skills and experience to generate positive social change in your neighborhoods, organizations, and communities.  

Life Long Learning

This unique program is accessible to people throughout BC and across Canada. Courses are primarily online with a one week residency requirement at the beautiful Powell River Outdoor Learning Center. Learn more about the residency requirement here. (link to page about the center)

Attaining a Degree

The Leadership and Disability Studies diploma is a pathway to a growing number of third year degree options at Vancouver Island University and at other post-secondary institutions across Canada. Here are some examples.
