Centre for Community Outreach and Care 2015/16 project
The Nanaimo Aquatic Centre has been experiencing a higher than usual number of youth who are hanging out at the Aquatic Center. The youth have been identified as being at risk due to multiple reasons and they are currently not engaged in programming. A youth drop in pilot project has initiated providing services to youth ages 13-17 years of age one night a week at the Nanaimo Aquatic Center. Community partners for this group are the City of Nanaimo, Boys and Girls Club and the RCMP.
We are very excited about this work within our community in collaboration with those providing needed services to vulnerable children, youth and their families.
